Getting ready for UnPub 7 with some pie...

Image
Last year I attending my first convention, UnPub 6. I had so much fun last year that I immediately signed up to go again this year. For the third straight year, it's at the Baltimore Convention Center but the dates have been moved from April to March, St Patrick's Day weekend to be exact, March 17-19. So if you'll be in the area, come play some games for free!

I'm still eating Christmas cookies and you could be too!

There's a good chance that come holiday time, you'll find yourself at a family gathering and at the gathering there will be a plate or container of cookies. For as far back as I can remember, there have always been cookies around during these events. Most of the time they are homemade and there are a variety of different types of cookies. It wasn't until I met Christine that Christmas cookies became a bigger part of my life. I've always loved to bake but I didn't really make cookies all that often. Christine's family on the other hand takes it rather seriously. Both her mother and her aunt make a bunch of cookies (the former more than the latter) and when I say a bunch, I mean a metric shit ton.

Board games in digital form and the social aspect

I wanted to write something about playing board games online and where to do so, but a quick Google search found a great article on MakeUseOf.com  by Dann Albright that covered what I was going to write about and then some. You can read his really great article here . So instead, I'd like to talk about how digital gaming doesn't always scratch the itch for me, but it can with a little effort and the right people.

Homemade pizza and why you should be making it

Image
I brought leftover pizza that I made last night for lunch today and on this day last year, I posted on Facebook that you should be making your own...from scratch. Yes, even the dough. So I thought this would be an interesting topic for me to talk about and to share some of my limited wisdom.

A new year, a new me. Well not really...but sort of.

So this is a new blog/website I've created to encompass everything that interests me. A place to talk about what I like in more than 140 on Twitter or in small blurbs on Facebook where only my family and friends will see. It's also a place for a new me, well not really a new me because that's rather cliche but even still, it's a place for me to start making a name for myself so sort of a new me. What is that supposed to mean? Let me explain.
