Bring Gratitude Challenge Day 30

Day 30 I am grateful for this challenge. It's been a fun exercise of self reflection. I'm not going to continue posting here, but I will share on social media. I've noticed a change in my demeanor since doing this. I'm constantly looking for the positives in all situations. The 30 Day Bring Gratitude Challenge

Day 29 I'm grateful for music. When the right song comes on or a perfect score is played during a scene, it can evoke all sorts of emotions or feelings. Music breaks up the silence in our lives. I know that I turn to it daily depending on my mood. The 30 Day Bring Gratitude Challenge

Day 28 I'm grateful for bread. I've had an ongoing obsession with all bread items since I was a kid. To this day, I'll even eat white bread straight from the bag. I like making it almost as much as I like eating it. The 30 Day Bring Gratitude Challenge

Day 27 I'm grateful for alone time. There is about an hour or so each night where everyone else is asleep and I get to be by myself. Normally I use this time to screw around on my phone until I fall asleep. Not having to be "on" for that time allows me to relax after a long day. The 30 Day Bring Gratitude Challenge

Day 26 I'm grateful for safe travels. We got home yesterday safe and sound, after some time visiting family and friends in Syracuse. We had to take an alternate route on the way up and weather was an issue for part of the trip. Our return drive was pleasantly uneventful. The 30 Day Bring Gratitude Challenge

Day 25 I'm grateful for technology, specifically my smartphone. It connects me to a world's worth of knowledge via the internet, but it also makes phone calls, sends texts, and post memes or watch cat videos. It plays music and can lead me to any destination. The 30 Day Bring Gratitude Challenge

Day 24 I'm grateful for our nanny, Dee. We got incredibly lucky to find her when Grace was going to a daycare. She's now been with us for over 3 years and takes absolutely wonderful care of our kids. She cares for them like they're her own. The 30 Day Bring Gratitude Challenge

Day 23 I'm grateful for the Christmas season. Now that Thanksgiving has been given its due, we can now move on to Christmas. It's not my favorite holiday but I do love the music, flavors, and feeling of it. Seeing the kids excited for the whole month brings me a lot of joy. The 30 Day Bring Gratitude Challenge

Day 22 I'm grateful for Thanksgiving a.k.a. the best holiday . I love Thanksgiving because it's an eating holiday and a lot of my favorite foods are served. It's also a time great time to catch up with family and friends. Happy Thanksgiving! The 30 Day Bring Gratitude Challenge

Day 19 I'm grateful for comedy because I love to laugh. I love anything with humor, whether it be sitcoms, stand-up, movies, or even just a sarcastic joke. Laughing makes me happy so I'm always ready to hear something funny. The 30 Day Bring Gratitude Challenge

Day 18 I'm thankful for our house. Living in a new build, three-story townhouse has been great in a lot of ways; having to go up and down stairs helps me from getting fat, it's relatively low maintenance, our utility bills are lower than average, and it's in a safe neighborhood. Day 17 I'm grateful for my brother, Matt. He's probably the smartest person I know and he tends to know more about most subjects than just about anyone else. I terrorized him growing up, but he was always there to play or talk to. I'm thankful that we're still as close as we are. The 30 Day Bring Gratitude Challenge

Day 16 I'm grateful for where we live. Delaware doesn't have everything that other states have, but what it does have makes for a great place to live. We're close to 4 major cities, have great beaches, a temperate climate, no sales tax, and a low-ish cost of living.   The 30 Day Bring Gratitude Challenge

Day 15 I'm grateful for hockey. I've been watching it since I was a little kid. There's no sport on earth that provides the kind of non-stop action that hockey does. #GoAvsGo The 30 Day Bring Gratitude Challenge

Day 14 I'm grateful for podcasts. My drive used to be 100% sports radio, but now it's stories of people's lives, talk about food, stories of fiction, comedy, and a sprinkle of sports stories. Podcasts have quickly become my favorite form of media. The 30 Day Bring Gratitude Challenge

Day 13 Today I am grateful for Twitter. Social media in general causes a lot of problems, but the good I've been able to pull from Twitter is what keeps me coming back. I've met so many people on there and it's also been a place for me to be somewhat private from the rest of my life. It's also a major source of news and laughs. The 30 Day Bring Gratitude Challenge

Day 11 I'm grateful for pizza. Pizza, to me, is the closest thing to a perfect food as you can get. I love to make it almost as much as I like to eat it. It's comforting and delicious. The 30 Day Bring Gratitude Challenge

Day 10 I'm very grateful for our three children: Grace, Ben, and James. Watching each of them grow and develop their own personality has been an amazing experience. They push me to be a better person each day and I hope that I never let them down. The 30 Day Bring Gratitude Challenge

Day 9 I'm grateful for my job and my boss. Working for the State of Delaware has given me a job that provides great benefits. For a young family like ours, having a flexible schedule has been a wonderful gift. My boss has always been understanding and amenable to any personal requests I have. Day 8 Today I am grateful for my childhood friends, specifically Brian, Corey, Ken, and Len. It's not often that people stay in contact with many of the people they graduated high school with. I'm lucky that the five of us have stuck together despite out of state moves by two of us. I look forward to seeing them when we go back home for the holidays and our group text is sometimes what gets me through the day. The 30 Day Bring Gratitude Challenge

Day 7 Wednesday's theme: Who are you grateful for today? Why? Today I am grateful for my wife, Christine. She's been by my side for over 14 years. We've built quite a life together and I'm beyond lucky that she keeps me around. One week of this challenge is over and I am already feeling the effects of this exercise. That may be because I want to think I am, but nevertheless I'm happy that I'm doing this. I probably won't stick with the daily themes going forward. I have a lot of things that I'm grateful for that I want to share and more will likely come to mind. The 30 Day Bring Gratitude Challenge

I came across the  30 Day Bring Gratitude Challenge from another account I follow on Twitter. The point of the challenge is to journal or post one thing that you're grateful for each day for the month of November. By doing this, it's supposed to become a more positive person. This positivity is supposed to encourage you to feel happier and become more productive and a more resilient person. I've always been a pretty negative person in general, miserable some might say. Over the past few years I've wanted to make a change, but falling back to my default settings rather easily has stopped that from happening. I'm hoping that by doing this challenge, and keeping it going long past the end of the month, that it will help me feel better overall. This is all part of my effort to work on myself starting this month and going through 2019. I don't know the research behind the following, but why not try if any of it's just a tiny bit true? In an effort to
